A Warm Invitation from Henry Poole & Co…..
The eagerly awaited 2020 Concours d’Elegance will take place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September at Hampton Court Palace. At last, after months of lockdown and rigid social distancing, this is the first big open-air event of the season, a joyous opportunity to be out and about and mingle freely in a relaxed outdoor setting. Visitors to the Concours can enjoy the sensational majesty and beauty of Hampton Court Palace as well as the 60 rare cars on display, many of which have never been seen in the UK before.
Henry Poole & Co has been a founding partner since the Concours began at Windsor Castle in 2012 under the patronage of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, known for being a motoring enthusiast, so we are delighted to invite our clients to come and celebrate with us at our stand. Here we’ll be selling accessories like ties, cufflinks and handkerchiefs and we’re privileged to be the designers of the event’s official tie. Usually we design it in the traditional red but this year, to honour the valiant efforts of the NHS during Coronavirus, we’ve created the tie in blue. It is embellished with a McLaren motif to celebrate the 25th anniversary of McLaren’s Formula One GTR’s victory at Le Mans 24 Hours and we are making a special edition of just 120.
Celebrating another big anniversary this year is RangeRover, which turns 50. To honour this iconic British brand, we’ve made a limited edition of 50 special jackets in collaboration with LandRover’s Chief Creative Officer, Gerry McGovern OBE, who created the fabric. The original paint colours of 1970 RangeRover – Tuscan Blue, Davos White and Bahama Gold – were the inspiration behind the fabric. The interior lining is in Tuscan blue and there is a Bahama Gold undercollar. Meanwhile, the traditional dog-tooth check has been given a new twist by a Tuscan Blue window check to combine with the Davos White. There is a hero label signed by Gerry McGovern. The jacket is smart enough to pair with grey flannels but also looks perfect with denim jeans so we believe this is the ultimately adaptable smart-casual jacket that can be worn anywhere and we’re proud to be launching it at our stand.
The Councours is presented by the German watch brand, A. Lange & Söhne, famed for its Saxon craftsmanship, and the three-day festival will showcase some of history’s most rare and extraordinary coachbuilt automotive masterpieces. These include the only Jaguar XK150 by Bertone known to exist and the unique Bugatti Type 57 with coachwork by Gangloff.
We are confident you’ll have a wonderful day out and we extend a warm invitation to come and join in the fun with us at our stand. Tickets are available here.
