Henry Poole & Co is delighted to announce it will be open from Monday 6th July. We are enormously looking forward to welcoming back our loyal customers, particularly as we are so grateful to you for your continuing kindness, loyalty and support throughout lockdown.
I would like to reassure you that your safety – and that of our staff – is our utmost priority. We want you to feel welcome and relaxed, so have realigned our showroom and extended it into the cutting area at the back so that half a dozen customers will be able to be in the shop at the same time at a safe social distance. Our staff are on hand and briefed to make sure that social distancing rules are kept to, without you having to worry. There is hand sanitiser on entrance and exit and our surfaces are cleaned between every client’s visit.
All our fitters are equipped with gloves and face visors. We decided on visors because we thought they were safer than masks but also because their transparency means it’s easier for our staff to communicate with you than through a mask. Finally, we wanted the right visors to fit over our fitters’ glasses so as not to compromise their eagle-eyed vision, so important for the very precise fit we pride ourselves on.
Perhaps best of all we have two spacious changing rooms with mirrors, cleaned between customers. Anyone who has been shopping for clothes on the high street recently will know what a laborious and unpleasant experience that can be. There are very few staff to help and no fitting rooms open, so customers can only try on clothes at home and then have the inconvenience of going back to the store to return them if they are ill-fitting.
At Henry Poole & Co, we are offering an authentic Savile Row experience as a welcome respite from the trials of the high street and beyond that a bespoke garment guaranteed to fit and last a lifetime.
Meanwhile, our online service continues. We will send you swatches at home and we are offering colour and pattern consultations on Zoom so we can give you our professional advice on the fabrics you are choosing.
Our trunk shows will resume as soon as travel restrictions permit. Meanwhile we can send any swatches to our customers abroad ahead of our arrival.
